WE DELIVER

To ensure maximum enjoyment of your system, we have always offered, not only set-up and installation of all audio and video products, but in-home instructions on how to use your new equipment. That installation does not stop with just hooking up the wires. We work with you, designing and assembling cabinets to house your equipment. We spend as much time as is needed to find the best position for your speakers, even if that means putting them on a wall!

All of the high quality manufacturers we represent have introduced new and exciting products. It is now possible to put you in complete control of your audio-video system no matter where you are in your home. Great sound and images can be had in every area of your house, controlled remotely from each room. Your main listening room can be wired as a complete entertainment center with concert hall and movie theater sound completely surrounding you. The best part of all this is that nothing has to show - there is no mass of tangled wires dangling from the equipment. All the controls and speakers are in the walls. WHO WE ARE

The Glenn Poor family has deep roots in Champaign-Urbana. The first Glenn Poor's store opened in 1949 on Springfield Avenue in Urbana and for 45 years sold televisions, radios, and video related products to many residents of Champaign County. The original store remains part of the family today, although it now serves as the service and repair center. Glenn Poor's Audio/Video opened its first hi-fidelity store in 1975. We have long since gained a reputation for the quality of our products and the expertise and helpfulness of our staff. With our recent move to Old Farm Shopping center, Glenn Poor's Audio/Video will be able to serve our customers better than ever before. We designed our new facility to be customer-friendly. We invite anyone to "Come in, relax, spend some time, and enjoy yourself. And you are welcome back any time." We hope, of course, that you ultimately will want to purchase our merchandise, but we realize that not everyone will. And even if you do not, you always have a standing invitation to stop by and browse. Glenn Poor's current sales staff is among the most informed in the State of Illinois. Geoff Poor's interest in music goes back to his college days, when he worked as a lead vocalist in several rock bands while attending the University of Illinois. Since opening the first Glenn Poor's Audio/Video store, he has been actively engaged in the stereo business. Geoff was also co-founder of Dunlavy, one of the world's preeminent hi-fidelity speaker companies. In 1995, he became director of sales for Balanced Audio Technology, a company known for its outstanding electronics.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Glenn Poor's does something few people have the opportunity to do: help people have fun. Watching great films and listening to music are two of the great pleasures that Glenn Poor's Audio/Video believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience. Our equipment therefore covers a wide range of prices. Although we carry some of the most expensive video and audio components in the world, we are first and foremost committed to selling equipment that everyone can afford. People on tight budgets, like those who are not, can find what they want at Glenn Poor's. We believe that everyone should be able to experience video and hear music at its best. Thus, we sell what we think is the highest quality equipment that people can buy at any given price. To this end, Geoff Poor and the other members of the staff travel around the world and visit hi-fi havens such as France, Japan, Sweden, England, Germany, and Scotland to find state-of-the-art products that sell at good prices. Often we sell these products before they become popular in and widely distributed throughout the United States, which allows us to sell these products to customers at great prices. It's All About the Sound and Music. Experts are quick to talk about the technical specifications of a particular piece of equipment-the power of an amplifier, the imaging or resistance of a speaker, etc. Sometimes it is important to know what those specifications are, and we are always willing to discuss them. Indeed, our personnel are well trained to interpret the technical specifications of any piece of equipment in the store. Ultimately, however, watching video and listening to music is all about emotions, not technical evaluation. The people at Glenn Poor's Audio/Video believe that our customers should walk out of the store with their purchase only when they have found a combination of equipment that leads them to say, "Wow, this is it." Getting our customers to the "wow, this is it" is what our job is all about.
